Dominoes.
Can something be more more entertaining?
The same way you can play in a group, you can also build alone another game.
The Toppling game.
I find Life to be as entertain as this toppling thing… Have you though about that?
Dominoes are very simple pieces that can be used in many forms to having fun.
Even in tradition form of use, the ancient guys used to be gathering together finding fun in the possible combinations.
An ongoing “find the right piece for the right end”.
After a while people start to engage in some kind of strategic way of playing, and to some big head brains out there, they even start to count the pieces to know which one is missing and the next pice that will come to the table.
Almost Prophetic stuff…
I have a Uncle that is a very good player on that.
He always knew what would be the next piece. Crazy, right?
As a Latin guy, I can say to you: this game is very popular among old drunk guys in almost every city around here. (my Uncle wasn’t one of those drunk guys, but there’s a mystery in how he start to play so damn good)
The human creativity could not miss to diversify the uses of those beautiful mini walls.
We’ve always enjoy a good creative alternative, almost more famous than the traditional game.
Domines Toppling is a timeless trend.
Doesn’t just keep our attention in the falling part as it goes, but brings this amazing kind of felling in waiting to see which art picture will result from that.
It’s something that blends the dopamine response of the human brain in waiting with the conclusion of the chain reaction in an entire colorful image.
It’s right here that we have an amazing lesson.
What have our lives to do with this whole Domino Toppling kind of thing?
Why is relevant to think about this domino game toppling category to understand the infinite possibilites our choices can bring to our lives in our daily decisions?
Life is an interest unfolding of Multiple Realities when you start to unlock new connections.
We can start with this statement: “It’s all about New & Connections”.
Lets brake it down…
Have you ever felt like Life is not moving? Neither going forward or coming back to what’s familiar?
Are you feeling like something really big is about to happen but this thing never arrives?
Did you thought about making a bold move in the board of your life—changing cities, quitting your job, traveling out of nowhere without saying nothing to anyone—but this desire started to fade out from your mind?
This all have to do with the habitual things we are not aware of. It’s common that “action” do not happen because of that.
Sometimes things are just too normal and seems like we need a lot of energy to experiment getting those daily rituals out of track.. in a good way.
Have you ever caught yourself imagining someone or something coming out of nothing and changing all the basis of your current life?
Like a Hero in a comic mag or an owl in a wizard movie.
This is happening all the time, but in an almost unnoticeable scale.
We have some exemples of that, like, maybe that crosswalk you always pass by is close this time.
Or you forget your keys inside of the house and now you can’t entering your home.
Maybe your neighbor needs help to change the tire.
Or even the waitress has too many orders right in front of you.
Things that happen all the time and the power to change all the landscape of our lives.
But we don’t want the small changes, right?
We want the big fucking action movie kind of event that changes everything in a blink of an eye.
The problem is not the thing that happen. It’s your own perspective about them.
“Your pain is the breaking of the shell that encloses your understanding.”
(Kahlil Gibran, The Prophet)
The way we face those little changes are most of the time the way you are gonna face the big ones
Think about it.
Doesn’t matter if it’s the keys, the crosswalk, the neighbor or the waitress…
How do you extract meaning from those happening? (lets call them opportunities from now one. It’s better this way)
In a lot of ways your thoughts are not your best friends, we know that.
They don’t allow you to notice the great opportunity those obstacles bring to your life.
“I have to get there in the right hour” or “Now I’ll get to make all around this block to get there”
Those kind of thoughts are the common ones which are always begging to be noticed.
They are always there, waiting some unusual thing get in the way to appear and make their scene.
But those thoughts are the only things that are keeping you from seeing the obvious:
What if, even the small change of your day, could manifest a totally New Life?
Your life is always manifesting the toppling effect. New happenings. New alternatives. New perspectives to be living.
No one knows better than you how many things appeared in your way, or even changed your life, because of that one conversation;
one wrong bus stop;
one good morning int he street;
or even more easy than that: one comment on Social Media.
“You are one conversation distant of changing your whole life.”
Trust your gut.
That’s right.
Therefore, what’s the next Domino’s Piece you are ready to take down just to see what happens?
Like, don’t you would like to taste the feeling of being the pivot of the change happening right before your eyes?
Wouldn’t you like to the that Hero you are wanting for?
That’s the sensation which keeps you alive. You know it.
It’s not expect too much of you to bring the action to your life. You don’t even need to change anything of your routine.
This is like the natural setting of our lives. We are in a constant game of opportunities.
A constant “cause & effect” interaction with Life.
You see a button. You press the button. The button brings you a result or a new action. Keep going.
I like to perceive life like the loyal viewer when you embody this posture.
Cheering you up everytime you take the seat toward experiencing the unknown of a little change.
But only when you allow yourself to face the unknown.
Besides that, life can be a devoted hangman.
So, bring the best side of Life and start to move it to be cheering you.
I know that we often tend to understand life in a way that seems like a really big Maze.
We are always looking for the tiny space, the giant door or the right path which will bring certainty to our lives and will make everything feels right in place.
That’s the absolute search of human race:
Which path I should chose for my life? “Should I stay or should I go?”
Most of the times, life behaves like that, right?
It’s hard to distinguish where we should go and even when we should decide to go.
“Is it now the right move? Is it the right move?”
In this decision process, something comes to our way.. like a wall.
A very tough wall. Making the impression of being there for years.
I don’t know.. this thing seems like some kind of a 100 years wall in our lives.
Was never there before and in some day.. boom! Hard to move forward.
It’s hard to look around it; even more harder to expect to be able in transposing it.
“The prison-house is the world of sight, the light of the fire is the sun, and you will not misapprehend me if you interpret the journey upwards to be the ascent of the soul into the intellectual world.”
(Plato, The Republic)
There is where the death of realizing it lives.
You lost the track of coming up with solutions.
You lost the expectation to be experiencing something beyond that wall. More often you examine it, more the wall starts to increase its own size.
This crazy wall is not placed just in front of you… this wall is creating twins now, that starts to surrounding you; creating a cubicle to your own perception.
What was a obstacle before, now seems like your whole reality.
Your own Maze.
Given you just one alternative of path. The one you already know. The one that have always been your same attitude for all these years.
You forget the power of choosing.
You are being lead by the Maze itself.
Don’t you remember where your real power lay on? How it used to be?
When you stop and realize the opportunities that Wall will brings, you start to see every Wall like that:
The Call to Action—like a command—which your life should take forward, to breakdown the obstacle and unfold a New Perspective.
“Until you make the unconscious conscious, it will direct your life and you will call it fate.” (Carl Jung)
Every Wall is a giant Domino Toppling in favor of your Life.
“What? Wait… Everytime I fell trap in my own limits, in my own difficulties, is the right opportunity to grow?”
Yeah. That’s exactly what it is.
Have you ever heard about the Sky Viewer Approach?
(I think I just mad up this term)
By stepping back and gaining perspective, you can see that each “Wall” is, in fact, a domino piece Waiting to create a chain reaction for your Life.
This broader view allows you to recognize potential pathways and opportunities for growth, leading yourself out of the Maze and into a dynamic, interconnected experience of life.
What an amazing exercise you have at your fingertips. Better yet for guide this exercise:
That one moment when you close your eyes and breath;
Is the moment when that giant piece of rock diminishes.
Is the moment when you levitate and see it from above.
It is all about the Sky Viewer Approach and how you reach that state.
And there’s a other more things you can add to that:
— Your perspective isn’t rigid. You don’t need to look the walls in a Zoom In state all the time.
You have the obligation—kind of—to gain power of your way of looking at life.
Understanding what brings you the Freedom to move and look around, even if you cannot leave the physical place you are.
Empathetic thinking with yourself will bring you clarity. Not just in relation to people but also in relation to places, conditions and circumstances.
You are the Master of your reality.
You gain more power each time you fly high above your limited ground vision.
Detach from what you already know and give yourself the real opportunity to reflect.
To observe in different way.
“The root of suffering is attachment.”
(Buddha)
— The walls manifest themself to be overthrown. It’s kind of their existencial mission.
If you are curious enough, just a glimpse of what the Wall can bring to your life, when fall down, is sufficient to give yourself the courage to act.
Engage with new situations and people, initiating the domino effect that moves you forward.
Can you notice already the greater approach of interpreting this whole modus operandi?
When you gain this flying perspective, it becomes possible to understand that those big walls actually are tiny dominoes pieces waiting, aiming, bagging to being putted down.
They are the holders of special gifts.
But you have to be brave enough to face them. Face them hard.
“This whole universe has come into existence just to carry you to God consciousness.”
(Swami Vivekananda)
— Flow is your friend. Rhythm will be juice of this friendship. Drink it!
Do you remember those movies where the protagonist finds a hidden path when he pushes some block on the wall?
Stick with that.
The Maze is part of the Journey. Everytime you gain new skills, new connections and new tools, some walls will start to appear in front of you.
Is the life way to give you the right kind of gift.
To test if you are ready to be elevated to the new arena; to play with the new toys.
Every obstacle, when perceive, has the potential to open a new path.
And every path has a Wall. Every wall has the potential to becomes a Domin Effect. (I can almost hear all that walls falling apart one by one while you are deciding to start the push them)
“You are an aperture through which the universe is looking at and exploring itself.”
(Alan Watts)
Make it happen often. Be a master of pushing walls.
It’s in this state of mind where you bring back your ability to realize.
You make yourself conscious of what you are able to do and how to start the chain effect of your life.
The cubicle is not your reality anymore.
The Walls are not leading you to the same old and familiar path.
You become something more.
You transform yourself in a “Wallbender”.
Transforming your life and changing its direction is not something out of sight or difficult.
Isn’t something to be afraid of.
You need to move, tho. You need to want the change.
The most accountable sensation is the understanding that every little different move you make can change everything for ever.
When I say for ever is because we never know what next surprise hides behind the Wall… and I have a great story for that:
“A man possesses the ability to foresee every event in his life, leading to a monotonous existence. One day, he’s offered the chance to experience a single surprise. Intrigued, he accepts, and the unexpected event brings him such joy that he begins to choose surprises more frequently. Eventually, his life becomes filled with unpredictability. It becomes his dream life, filled with surprises. It becomes a normal ordinary life.
(Stephen Crane)
You have the opportunity to be living your Dream Life.
Right here.
Right now.
Just stop viewing the walls as a Maze and start viewing them as they are:
Big domino pieces waiting to be overthrown and bring to you a great amount of brand New Events.
